Dynamic Group Links GA (General Availability)

Today is an exciting day where Dynamic Group links enter the stage of General Availability. This means we've done enough internal tests to feel comfortable launching this epic feature publicly.

What are dynamic group links? Simply: they are dynamic, which means you can create them on the fly and they group links which are similar to the traditional pre-defined collective event.

A dynamic group link has a "+" between usernames, immediately creating a collective event.

Everyone has come across situations where you want to loop in a sales person and an engineer, a doctor and an assistant, a banker and a lawyer or the two founders of a company.

Scheduling tools are amazing for 1:1 meetings. Want to meet peer? → cal.com/peer

But how would you meet the two cofounders Peer and Bailey? Simple: cal.com/peer+bailey.

It's really that simple.

In the past, and also in every other scheduling product, you need to

  1. log into your dashboard

  2. create a team

  3. add Bailey to the team

  4. create a collective team event

  5. add Bailey and Peer as assignees

  6. copy the link (i.e.: https://i.cal.com/cal/founders)

  7. paste the link into your chat/email

Now this is fine for static teams where the members never or rarely change.

But what if you want to go a little bit more dynamic and add the head of engineering? Well, in reality, nobody has time for this and resorts back to the traditional email tennis.

Today we're changing the way people meet on the web and in real-life as the only scheduling company with dynamic group links.

Booking the two founders and head of engineering is simply: cal.com/peer+bailey+keith

This works with as many usernames, until you run out of available slots.

We're excited to be launching the GA of this feature today on Product Hunt and are pumped to be investing more time into making not only 1:1 but also group meetings a breeze.

Tips:

  1. Get a premium username for an extra short email

  2. Create an organization which gives you a subdomain. This means your username (i.e. cal.com/john-doe) does not compete with your company subdomain.

acme.cal.com/john-doe is a different person than cal.com/john-doe. With a subdomain, we enforce usernames based on your company email address, which means you can do something like acme.cal.com/anna+brian+ciaran if you wanna make a meeting with anna@acme.com, brian@acme.com and ciaran@acme.com.

We call this: know someone's email, know their scheduling link and it works perfectly with Dynamic Group links.

Thank you for trusting in us and enjoy our launch today!
